Calvillo Aguascalientes. A city in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes. The town is the municipal seat of the municipality of Calvillo. It is also the second most populated city in the state, just behind the capital city. It is located about 52 km from the city of Aguascalientes.
The Origin of the Beautiful Calvillo Aguascalientes
Calvillo was born with the settling of the Nahua Indians group of San José de Huejúcar. Later, Don Jose Calvillo, made a gift of land for the foundation of the people on November 18, 1771.
The town has built a reputation based on production of guavas in various products as well as in the area of pilling. These crafts and techniques have been passed down from generation to generation and represent the state at National level.
One of the attractions of the town is the Parish of the Lord of Salitre. Its construction began in 1772 and ended in 1884. They worship the patron of the town in the parish.
